The textBOX privacy notice (hereinafter termed the “Privacy Policy”) describes how we (textBOX Digital Ltd, textBOX, “we” or “us”) collect and use information related to each of our unregistered visitors and registered users, (each, a “Visitor” or “User” (respectively), or “you”), in connection with their access to and use of the textBOX website (https://www.textboxdigital.com/; the “Website”), and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

1. INFORMATION COLLECTION, USE, AND SHARING

textBOX are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. textBOX only have access to collect information that you voluntarily give us via email, registration or other direct contact from you. We will never sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of textBOX, other than as necessary to resolve your request.

2. REGISTRATION

Mailing List

By registering for our Mailing List, you agree that we may contact you from time to time via email in the future to tell you about special offers, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

textBOX will only ever ask for the following personal data:

Your name.
Your email address.
Your company or institution name.
Your job title.

textBOX will retain your registration data for two (2) years. We will update our mailing list every 18 months to make sure you wish to remain on the list.

Database tool (“searchBOX”)

searchBOX is a comprehensive database of publisher contact details provided free of charge to the library community to help source accessible publisher content. In order to protect the substantial data collected within this service and measure usage for the purposes of improving the service we require a simple and proportionate registration process (professional email address only).

Registration to our searchBOX database tool does not automatically enter your details into our Mailing List database. Only your explicit registration for the Mailing List will enter your details into our Mailing List database.

textBOX will retain your registration data for two (2) years. We will update our searchBOX member list every 18 months to make sure you wish to remain on the list.

searchBOX includes an option to create a Favourites list. Your selected favourites are held in a database alongside your unique encrypted user ID. textBOX are unable to identify an individual user's favourites. The favourites feature enables a user to create a quick reference to their most used publishers or platforms.

searchBOX includes an option to recommend specific features of a publisher or platform accessibility statement using a Like feature. textBOX only records the number of likes posted against each feature. The likes are not connected to your user profile.

3. YOUR ACCESS TO AND CONTROL OVER INFORMATION

You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do this at any time by contacting us at hello@textboxdigital.com.

4. SECURITY

We take appropriate measures to ensure that all personal data is kept secure including security measures to prevent personal data from being accidentally lost or used or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal data to those at textBOX who have a genuine business need to know it. Those processing your information will do so only in an authorised manner and are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

We also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where we are legally required to do so.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we obviously cannot guarantee the safety of the internet. The security of your data transmitted through any online means is therefore subject to risks beyond our control and for which we cannot take responsibility.

Sign-up and login services are completed through a secure server. The information provided to textBOX in the signup process is secured via HTTPS/ SSL communication.

The textBOX website uses cryptography hash functions to protect your information. Your password is stored as a hash digest and, in the event of a security breach, your original password cannot be recovered from our servers.

5. WEBSITE ANALYTICS

textBOX use "cookies" on this site to ensure that you receive the best user experience. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor's computer to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would be remembered and not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and understand the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. From time to time textBOX may request information via surveys or contests. Participation in these surveys or contests is completely voluntary and you may choose whether or not to participate and therefore disclose this information. Contact information will be used to notify the winners and deliver prizes if appropriate. Where permitted by local data protection laws, textBOX may disclose or otherwise allow others access to your Personal Information pursuant to a legal request, such as a subpoena, legal proceedings, search warrant or court order, or in compliance with applicable laws, if we have good faith belief that the law requires us to do so, with or without notice to you.
